Memorandum to the Calendar and Scheduling Commitee from Edgar F. Shannon, Jr., 1970 June 29.

A memorandum from University of Virginia President Edgar F. Shannon advices that the calendar for the academic year 1970-1971 as promulgated remains in effect. With the memo are two attachments: a letter to A.R. Kuhlthau of the Calendar and Scheduling Committee acknowledging the Committee report on a proposal by Robert B. Cullen that the University of Virginia schedule a recess for sudents to engage in Congressional campaigns. Shannon concurs with the Committee decision not to grant such a recess and attaches a position paper by Keith Spalding, President of Franklin and Marshall College, on the topic of political acitivity recesses set forth in the "Princeton Plan."
